Snow arrives just in time for Dion Ignite the Night Snowshoe Race at Upper Canada Village

MORRISBURG — A bare early start to winter gave way to relieved snowshoers and organizers for the Dion Ignite the Night Snowshoe Race at Upper Canada Village Saturday evening.

With less than 24 hours before the race, race director Gilles Parisien and volunteers were rewarded with about 10 centimetres of the white powdery stuff necessary for a snowshoe race.

“Definitely what we want,” Parisien said, otherwise the race would have gone ahead except with running shoes.
